Conventional Home Automation Systems lack many of the essential properties of home automation system, which are now easily accessible with modern technologies like IoT where every device is connected and can be controlled through internet. The proposed system presents a standard home automation system with all requirements an automation system has like – scalable, configurable, DIY and serves the most important function which is plug and play. Firstly, this paper discuss the merits and demerits of mainstream works on home automation system. Next, key enabling technologies – Cloud (Pubnub), Android Applications, WiFi Module (ESP 8266), Raspberry Pi have been discussed. User interfaces for web, pc and mobile devices are designed for this system. Also, algorithm has been constructed for connecting Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module with the system to control wirelessly. Smart home security system has been added by using PIR motion Sensor. Lastly, data have been measured from the different sensors .

Home automation has made its way from science fiction movies to forefront of consumer market. It is not just the new buzzword; it is making life simpler and less demanding. This paper presents the design of Home Automation System which uses conventional development board with sensors and also include concepts like deep learning techniques via cloud for provision of idiosyncratic features. This low cost and reliable control and monitoring system runs over internet and is therefore free from physical restrictions. This Smart Home Controller could be fitted inside home without infrastructure changes. The proposed system consists of a Raspberry Pi, a camera, android mobile, Relays, multiple sensors. The feed from the camera will take pictures and match them with households to make sure only authorized people get house access. The computation will be done on cloud using AWS. The user can also control the system using android based application. This System also responds to voice commands to Google Assistant. The system is very flexible and user friendly.

This paper has shown an automation proposal that represents how IoT-based systems are making human life easier with the help of Google Assistant. It helps to control the automation of lighting, air conditioning, and CCTV security, as well as home appliances. Automation systems also control the excessive usage of electricity. Google Assistant is one of the greatest home companions that controls every IoT-based home appliance with the good interaction of Wi-Fi modules. It also provides good coverage of Wi-Fi-connected devices. Wi-Fi is frequently used for the facility of remote monitoring. The remotely monitored and controlled home devices connected via the Internet is a part of the Internet of things(IoT). So overall, we can perceive that developing our home smart that also provides a better management system without any human intervention. This document describes the implementation of such systems.

This project presents the overall design of a Home Automation System (HAS) with a low-cost wireless system. It specifically focuses on the development of an IOT based home automation system that is able to control various components via the internet or be automatically programmed to operate from ambient conditions. In this project, we design the development of firmware for smart control which can successfully be automated minimizing human interaction to preserve the integrity of whole electrical devices in the home. We used Node MCU, a popular open-source IOT platform, to execute the process of automation. Different components of the system will use different transmission modes that will be implemented to communicate the control of the devices by the user through Node MCU to the actual appliance. The main control system implements wireless technology to provide remote access from smartphones. We are using a cloud server-based communication that would add to the practicality of the project by enabling unrestricted access of the appliances to the user irrespective of the distance factor. We provided a data transmission network to create stronger automation. The system is intended to control electrical appliances and devices in a house with a relatively low-cost design, user-friendly interface, and ease of installation. The status of the appliance would be available, along with the control on an android platform. This system is designed to assist and provide support in order to 1fulfil the needs of the elderly and disabled in the home. Also, the smart home concept in the system improves the standard of living at home.

When it comes to automation and smart homes, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a crucial idea in today's world. It has to do with the automation of things through computing, in which all things and physical devices can be connected in order to make them sentient and programmable so that they can interact with humans. IoT is a cloud computing network that allows users to access physical objects or control equipment over a wireless network from any distance, at any time and in any location. One example of IoT technology is smart home automation. The usage of IoT in smart home automation was completely adopted in the twenty-first century, according to this study, by guaranteeing that household appliances and equipment were connected. This sort of IoT design not only controls devices, but also stores sensor data in the cloud and acts on it. The cloud is used to deliver sensor data via Wi-Fi module, and then a decision tree is applied to determine the output of the electronic devices. IoT-based services help to improve the domestic environment and are utilised for a variety of purposes. IoT applications based on home automation are flexible and widely used. This provides access to specific data in the house as well as the ability to control various parameters remotely. This article details the entire architecture of a smart home automation system based on IoT sensing and monitoring. The suggested smart home automation system prototype is constructed and tested on hardware in this project, allowing the user to control a limited number of household appliances using the bylnk application. The NodeMCU (ESP8266) microcontroller is used, and communication between the microcontroller and the application is done using Wi-Fi (Internet).

This project presents a design and prototype implementation of new home automation system that uses Wi-Fi technology as a network infrastructure connecting its parts. The proposed system consists of two main components; the first part is the server (web server), which presents system core that manages, controls, and monitors users’ home. Second part is hardware interface module, which provides appropriate interface to sensors and actuator of home automation system. Unlike most of available home automation system in the market the proposed system is scalable that one server can manage many hardware interface modules as long as it exists on Wi-Fi network coverage. System supports a wide range of home automation devices like power management components, and security components. The proposed system is better from the scalability and flexibility point of view than the commercially available home automation systems.
